Front and back shells are hydro dipped and clear coated with an automotive 2k clearcoat. Original box is not included and batteries are not included. Refurbished VS Pre-owned/ like new: Anytime anyone is offering a controller that has something custom (new buttons different shell etc.) it is no longer a "new" controller. Microsoft or Sony will no longer offer a warranty once they have been opened up and altered (the warranties aren't that great anyways...short period and lots of hoops to jump through and long turn around time before you get your item back). The ones I generally purchase are ones that have damaged RB or LB buttons or Analog stick drift. These are common problems that are easily corrected with 100% authentic parts. I make these repairs and the controller will work like a brand new controller this helps me stay at lower prices. People who sell pre-owned/ like new: source their controllers from open box purchases used controllers or ones that were refurbished somewhere else and occasionally (but rarely) a brand new controller.
