Product code: Sea glass ring, copper ring, green sea glass, size 4.5 US, handmade ring, prong, light green, sea glass, copper, hand hammered, sea buy foam

This beautiful petite ring is made with genuine piece of sea foam green sea glass. The ring shaft is an organic layered shaft that is hand hammered. The sea glass is set in a custom petal prong.

It is a size 4 1/2 US. The piece of sea glass measures 1/4" wide and about 3/8" long.

The House of Z was started as a creative collaboration between husband and wife team Amy and Drew Burchenal nearly 20 years ago. As we travelled the world looking for inspiration we became enamored with sea glass. There is something so special about the way the ocean can turn trash into something magical. Our main focus these days is on creating unique jewelry using sea glass we have collected. We have created each piece of jewelry in our studio as a one-of-a-kind collaboration between us and the forces of nature

We take pride in collecting every piece of sea glass ourselves. Each piece of glass is collected by hand and the way you see it is exactly how we found it on the beach. None of it is machine tumbled or shaped.

Sea glass takes about 30-60 years to polish naturally in the ocean. Most glass found in the USA dates from the 1800's to the 1960's. It starts as wine bottles, dishware, art glass, windows, canning jars, ink bottles, etc. The glass breaks up and becomes smooth as the tide and waves move the pieces around the ocean floor. From a colonial era onion bottle to a 1930's Coca-Cola bottle, there is a little bit of history infused in each piece.

Different colors of sea glass have different rarities. For example, the most common colors, like White and Brown, have a finding ratio of 1-in-2. Uncommon colors like Bright Green, Forest Green and Sea Foam have a finding ration of 1-in-50. Rare colors, like Purple and Cobalt Blue, have a finding ratio of 1-in-250. The extremely rare colors, like Red and Orange, are the most sought after pieces with finding ratios of 1-in-5,000 and 1-in-10,000 respectively. The prices of our jewelry reflect the rarity of the color we use in the piece.

We try to represent our sea glass colors as accurately as possible, but please be aware that colors may vary on screen monitors depending on different calibrations.

Your jewelry will arrive packaged in one buy of our handmade origami boxes crafted from recycled paper, and include a postcard with information about us and our sea glass.

Priority Shipping via USPS is included on all items over $35 shipped in the US.
