This rotund little snowman was molded out of paper clay (homemade paper clay, I should add) with an abundance of adorable details. I love the texture this paper clay gives the snowman - it was pretty messy to work with, but so much fun. He is adorn with a red and green ribbon scarf and surrounded by a mix of Christmas antiques. He is sitting next to a handmade sign saying Merry and Bright with a mix of antiques (Christmas light bulb, green ball ornament, a game die), all on an antique saucer. His eyes and buttons are painted on with 3D paint. He is standing at appropriately 5” tall.
Each snowman is uniquely handmade with a combination of little upcycled parts. I love antiquing and discovering fun little trinkets that I can repurpose. As I am making each each snowman I filter through my boxes of bits and pieces to find the perfect mix to make each special snowman. As I sift through all of my findings, my design might be inspired by buy a sparkly antique broach or an old skeleton key. Each snowman is just as unique as the components that make the snowman. I hunt for the perfect trinkets - a unique shape or fun lettering or even a bit of rust - these characteristics help to add extra personality to the figurines.
