This is a precious Vintage medium sized stuffed Bear from the Boyds Bears & Friends Archive Collection. This particular bear is burgundy, hunter green, and white with a precious bow, and 3 silver tone decorative buttons. Each Bear in the collection is named, handmade, has rotating arms legs and head. Each one of these bears is one a kind. This adorable bear's name is “Gwendolyn”.
Appears to be in GREAT Vintage Condition consistent with age and wear. No snags, very clean, and obviously taken very good care of!

“The Archive Collection
... the concept of Teddy's Bear was instigated by buy a 1902 political cartoon`by Clifford Berryman, in which he depicts Theodore Roosevelt refusing to shoot a small trembling bear cub. A number of toy manufacturers have since claimed to be the first to produce the 'Original' toy bear but all claims seem to be inconclusive. What is not inconclusive, however, is that the "Teddy Bear" has become one of the most popular children's toy ever created and one if not the most sought after of Toy Collectibles.

We have combed the world for a replica of suitable quality to 'bear' the Boyds Collection name and after much ado, have found a manufacturer. Our bears and hares are fully jointed, hand embroidered, and have the look and "feel" of an antique bear that one might see sold at the auction galleries for many thousands of dollars.

Each piece is handmade and as such no one piece looks exactly like the other, thus giving all Boyds Bears & Friends "character". We think this is one of the finest Teddy Bears you can buy, anywhere, at any price... REMEMBER... Accept No Substitute!”
