Scout is a sturdy little pipe that was carved by hand from raw red clay and then fired in our kiln to 2300F (stoneware hardness). We loved the natural colour of the red clay and left Scout unglazed to show the beautiful deep orange-red of the clay. We finished the pipe with a 100% copper stem that we have aged with a patina to give it hints of a mottled, pale turquoise, much like ancient oxidized copper. The pale turquoise of the stem looks great with Scout's red clay body. Scout also has a small carb hole (see photos) conveniently placed along the side of the bowl.

We have polished Scout and the finished pipe feels silky smooth and is a pleasure to hold. The natural insulating quality of the clay also keeps your hand cool when the pipe is in use.
