This Battery Module is the largest offered for your 12V power hungry projects. Battery supplies 12V and 7 amp-hour (84Watts) rated over 20hrs draw (this is a 40% greater power storage compared with a 12V5A battery). The battery is a 12V sealed lead acid battery type typically used in emergency exit signs buy or a small Uninterruptible Power Supply.

This module was specifically designed for the BlueTooth AmmoCan boom box for sale in this store but this unit will also allow you to power any number of robotic / mechatronic projects that require a 12V power source.

The Battery module contains:

BASE BRACKET: Base is a proprietary battery bracket made from a strong and tough thermoplastic. The base is held into your project with four (4) 8-32 button head screws, two screws from underneath the base and two from the back of the base. Additionally, the base has 2 heat set threaded brass inserts (in the back) and two stainless steel Nyloc nuts for securing the underside of the base.

BATTERY: Battery is a rechargeable ExpertPower (or equivalent) EXP1270 12V 7Ah sealed lead acid Home Alarm Battery with F1 Terminals. Battery contains approximately 84Whr and will provide roughly 42 hours of use when mated to the BlueTooth Amplifier Module (see other offering on this store).

The Gel Cell 12V lead acid battery should be charged with a trickle charger with a float option. Over discharging the battery (below 11.2V will cause damage to the battery). When in doubt a trickle charge will extend battery performance and extend battery life.

TOP STRAP: The top strap provides a secure top mount to secure the battery. A 18" heavy duty nylon tie strap with #175 rating is supplied to secure the battery and top strap to the base. The pictures show the battery mounted to the bottom tray and top strap using the nylon tie strap which is trimmed for cosmetic reasons. The unit will arrive in packaging and the tie strap can be mounted as needed for your application.

TERMINAL ISOLATION STRIP: Terminal strip allows the safe and secure mounting of the wires required to complete your project circuit. Terminal strip nylon is rated above 200V with 10mm spacing between mounting points. These isolation strips are often known as Eurostrips and are high quality and provide excellent and strong electrical contact. I feel that the nylon isolation strip is overkill for a this project but it provides an unparalleled design flexibility over simple crimped or wire nut connections.

All wiring connections utilize crimped wire ferrules or spade style connectors. The crimped ferrules provide reinforcing and mechanically support the stranded wire at the terminal strip and provides a strong mounting location for all electrical connections. The wiring harness contains the following components.

POWER WIRE: Primary power wire (red) with inline fuse holder with a 5x20mm AGC fuse (miniature inline). One end has female spade terminal and one end a crimped ferrule. Fuse holder comes with 10A fuse.

CONNECTION LEAD: Connection lead pair (red and black) with one end has female spade terminal and one end a crimped ferrule.
