The Corn Flower etched glass pattern was the most popular one made by W.J. Hughes of Canada and remains highly collectible among today's vintage buyers. This exquisite 12-petal floral design was hand cut and engraved on glass blanks from 1957 through the 1960s.

Introduced by Hughes in 1957, "Epic" was instantly a best seller. The Epic blanks were produced by the Viking Glass Company, formerly New Martinsville Glass. Its "ultra modern" design was composed of free form shapes in the styles of plates, bowls, relish dishes and ashtrays, to name a few. Not long after Epic entered the marketplace, Hughes negotiated exclusivity rights to the crystal Epic line. This line was produced for just about a decade and then discontinued.
