buy A Tailor's Clapper is a sewing/quilting tool to press corners and lines for a nice sharp seam. As the photos above show, simply steam the area on the material, remove the iron and place the clapper on the seam. (Logo side up) Remove the clapper after 5-10 seconds and you have a beautifully flat, pressed seam. The clapper was used for years by Tailor's to get a nice seam on a pair of pants for example. Modern equipment replaced this tool but quilters and people who sew find it very useful to get rid of unwanted fabric creases and to create a nice flat sewn seam, especially where seams meet at corners.
These make half square triangles nice and flat to piece together.
These clappers are made from oak which makes them stable and strong. There is no finish applied to the wood. It just finely sanded to obtain a flat side to press and not catch the material you are working on. I made these for my wife and daughter who use them all the time when quilting or sewing. They liked them, so I decided to try these on line to see if there is an interest. Check the weight on my clappers and you will see that the oak provides more weight and therefore flatter seams. I have a limited supply of this oak wood, so I will make them until it is all used. This offering includes a set of one standard clapper and one small clapper at a reduced price.
The standard size is 9" long x 1 3/4" thick and the small size is 7" long x 1 3/4" thick.
