Mother and Child -- the classic subject matter!
This is a hand-carved and hand-printed woodblock print, and the only one of its kind that I made. The process involved cutting a piece of birch plywood, then printing one color onto tan Rives BFK cotton paper, then carving more and printing the second color over the top of the first print, and then carving a second block of wood and printing a third color. So, it is a two-block, three-color woodblock print.
The paper size is about 11.75" x 15" and the image size is 9" x 11.5". The image is printed a bit off-center, but when matted and framed, that will not buy be apparent.
The print is signed and numbered 1/1, meaning that it is one of a kind, and sold unframed.
