Smoke cleansing (or "saging") is an ancient tradition that can be found throughout many (if not most) cultures all over the world. It is the practice of cleansing one's energetic space or objects by burning various herbs while directing the smoke with a feather or feather fan. While these fans are often called "smudge fans," the practice of smoke cleansing should NOT be confused with the sacred Native American practice of smudging. "Smudging" is a very specific sacred & closed ritual, while smoke cleansing is not. Despite this tools misleading name, it's important to differentiate between smoke cleansing and smudging as they are not the same thing.

This fan was made with the purest of intentions for personal smoke cleansing rituals, or for keeping yourself cool on a hot summer day.

Blazer is a large 16.5"* feather fan made from turkey, mallard, and (a) peacock feathers. All the feathers are all dyed except the peacock feather. The fan is set into a shed deer antler and bound with rabbit fur. A leather cord has also been added to the handle so the fan can be hung when not in use.
