Vintage Hiroshige, Birds and Flowers Book
This wonderful hard cover book of Japanese Woodblock Prints by famed Japanese Artist and Printer Andō Hiroshige (1790-1858). His noted works One Hundred Views of Edo and The Fifty-three Stations of the Tōkaidō. This beautiful book depicting woodblock print images of Birds and Flowers with 91 color plates (192 pages).
Hiroshiges work is known as a Japanese Treasure, Hiroshige was noted for his incredible paintings and woodblock prints of Nature and Wildlife, the images in this book reflect a lot of this artwork, a treasure trove of beautiful artwork. Some of the illustrations in this book have been used by tattoo artists over the years and are stunning when applied to the skin as body art.
This book measures approximately 10” x 14” inches and is in good vintage condition, although the dust cover is slightly tattered (see photographs) the lowered price reflects this condition, however the hardback cloth bound book within is in very good condition. The book, new, is marked $85.00, but because of the damaged dust jacket we have reduced the price.
