50s Vintage French Barrette in Bakelite Turtle color. Fantasy barrette a floral style. Length 3.3 in. Entirely handmade. Single buy Specimen

This barrette manufactured in France, in Oyonnax, is made entirely by hand. For this reason, it has become rare: it was extremely expensive to produce in this way and with this accuracy especially when working with Bakelite. Some photos were purposefully focused with a plane closer to allow to see how the piece was totally made by hand.

The beauty of this piece results from careful finishing, design originality and bakelite to imitate turtle; noted the work of decorating the barrette seems baroque.

Brand New by, we presume. Paul Maréchal (late 1950s there was still no concern in France about putting the mark); later, in the 60's we already found articles with the brand Paul Maréchal especially combs and handles
