PRICING: My prices are truly intended to offer you a fair deal for the time and money it takes to produce these awesome prints. To give you an idea on why I charge what I do, I'll briefly touch on some of the expenses it takes to run a 3D printing business. While you might think the initial cost of the 3D printer is all that matters, there are many other factors, both material and labour, that you must take into consideration:
- Highest Quality And Most Expensive Resin On The Market Is Used For The Printing Process.
- Printer maintenance: two parts are considered “consumables”, the UV screen and the fep sheet. These need to replaced every few months and the longer a print is the quicker it degrades these.
- Resin: While I buy the highest quality and the most expensive Resin on the market, this includes not only the resin of the print you're buying but the support structures that aid the print as well as any print failures both of which are pure waste product.
- Electricity: This mainly applies during the cold season, as I have a window open with an exhaust fan blowing out harmful fumes. Resin printers only work around room temperature and so I must run a large space heater next to them constantly which really adds to my electric bill.
- Cleaning supplies: Resin is incredibly toxic: nitrile chemical-resistant gloves, isopropyl alcohol, and cleaning solution for my ultrasonic cleaner all must be replaced on a regular basis.
- Time: Most prints take at least 6 hours or so to complete, with larger figures requiring over 20 hours. This means I can only print a single figure every day or so, forcing me to prioritize figures based on demand.
I hope this gives you a bit of insight into my pricing and how difficult it can be to use 3D printers!
ABOUT MY WORK: I take my time to thoroughly clean and prep each model that is printed so that the painting process goes smoothly. A very high quality resin 3D printer is used, and it gives a smooth and near flawless finish only every print.
Some of the models needs extra sanding and some buy models are made from more than one piece. So the buyer will have to glue and set them together, but It's an easy job to do and sometimes fun.
Even with all that, some unpredictable things can happen, like printing errors, flaws of the print etc. I only put out the best prints and If it's not 100% quality I repeat the printing process. So with all that sometimes the dispatch time may take longer.
