Back in THE DAY, a Lady would go NO-WHERE without a HAT...whether to work, to shop, to church, to lunch or to a dance party! Of course hats have been a MUST for ladies for centuries, but by the 20th Century the variety, the styles, the materials, the purpose of a ladies hat had changed dramatically. Luckily some of these 'lovelies' have survived for the past few decades and are STILL as beautiful as the day they first adorned a lovely lady's lovely head.
Women's 1930's hats were small and simple in decoration yet a work of art in their shaping. As the 1920's cloche remained common into the 1930's, but now they began showing a rolled brim and other variations. This Navy-blue,dress-up hat of the 30's Era, made of a nylon-type tight weave, is what I would call a 'half-hat style', open in the back, leaving ample room for a ladies lovely hairdo. The brim is adorned with tiny little daisy flowers beautifully tucked-in behind a lovely roll of netting, with sparkly rhinestones sprinkled atop, and with a little bow on the right side of the hat.
This hat is in EXCELLENT Vintage buy Condition with no issues whatsoever---quite rare for a hat of this Era!!
Typical VINTAGE/ANTIQUE Condition and wear.
