Wood options:
Solid hardwoods: Walnut, Mahogany or Eastern Cedar, sanded fine and rubbed with white mineral oil to bring out the natural beauty of the wood.
Pine wood, finished in your choice of stain - a more rustic option with the possibility of knots.
Cedar will almost certainly have knots; it features red, pink and white wood tones with a very aromatic smell.
