California Pottery ~ Niels buy Frederiksen Dish

Niels Frederiksen Mid Century Modern California Pottery Dish. Niels Frederiksen was born in May 1917. Frederiksen was active in San Francisco and Berkeley. His studio, The Country Potter buy, was located in Greenwood California near Sacramento. He spent his later years in Foresthill, CA and died there in December 2005

This is an early example of Frederiksen's work dating to the later early 50s. It's a funky crazy design fitting the mood of the 50s and 60s. The dish is approximately 8in. X 8in. X 1 in. Great condition with no chips or cracks.

Ramis (Maggie) bought art work from many local artists and designers when she had the money. I wish I knew more about where she got this piece.
