Antique Chinoiserie Fabric Sky buy Blue Love and Friendship Toile Fabric For Furniture FADED Antique Pillows European Ticking Fabric Tissu 1900s

Very rare vintage ticking fabric in sky blue and white with a Japanese atmosphere motif. It is a European damask fabric from around 1950. This piece, recovered and freshly washed, was part of a mattress cover. This fabric is lightweight cotton. Perfect textile for upholstery projects, cushions, bags, etc. The designs recall the drawings and patterns of French fabrics such as the Toile de Jouy and the Indianas due to the arrangement of the pieces. The motifs are inspired by Japanese designs that influenced so much Art Nouveau and Chinoiserie that was so popular throughout the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries.

CONDITION:
Good condition. Only light wear consistent with age and history but has no structural issues. Faint fading towards the side seams. Minimal scuffing or surface wear towards the side seams. Authentic hand sewn eyelets. Specially soft fabric. This fabric is freshly laundered and ready to use.A mark on the side. Wonderful piece. Extraordinarily smooth. It will be a pleasure to work with this textile.

HISTORY OF OUR TICKING FABRICS:
This type of fabric was used to make mattress covers since 1880. The motifs used are very varied: floral, oriental, country, palatial, or striped and the colors very bright. These fabrics were produced from 1882 to 1980 in the Area of Igualada, known for its textile industry. We have a collection of over 200 of these unique fabrics. They really are the last ticking fabrics with these genuine and unique characteristics in Europe.
