This is a black and silver, circa 1920, Art Deco vanity buy jar with added contemporary bat. The pattern on the top is black with tiny silver dots and and fancy scroll design. It measures 4.5 inches across and 2.5 inches tall. The contemporary antiqued silver bat has been added and it measures 3 inches across. The thick glass jar has beveled edges and an etched starburst pattern on the bottom.

The jar was made by Dupont. The top is made out of an early plastic called Pyrolin. The hey day of this thermo-set cellulose plastic was in the 1920's usually in an Art Deco style.
