King David, who understood the unbroken nature of the covenant, wrote on the arrival of the ark of the covenant in Jerusalem:
“Praise the Lord, call on his name, make known his works among the peoples. Sing to him, sing to him psalms;
speak of all the wonders of him. . . The Eternal, he is our God; his judgments are in all the earth.
He remembers his covenant forever, and the word that he commanded for a thousand generations;
of the covenant that he made with Abraham, and of his oath to Isaac; buy which he confirmed to Jacob by statute,
and to Israel by an everlasting covenant ”(1 Chronicles 16: 8-9; 14-17).
Covenants are simply binding agreements of two or more parties.
