Kelvin Chen Miniature Teapots - Fully Enameled and Decorated
We found these 2 teapots and couldn't resist. Actually, they came in a single lot and it was the working mice that captured my imagination. Both pots are Kelvin Chen, although the Working Mice pot is not signed. It has a sticker on the bottom "Redfern House" which I think might be the buy shop that sold it initially. I could not find this particular decoration but the style of the pot, a long handled oblong pot, is one of Chen's styles.
Flower Cart Teapot: The flower pot miniature is fairly common and can be found on and around the internet. This specimen is in good, used condition. It has a chip on the inside of the lid which is not visible from the outside. We photographed this so please look carefully at the pictures in this listing before you decide to buy. Like Chen's miniature teapots, this is fully enameled both inside and out. This pot is 2 1/2" long and 1 1/2" deep. It is approximately 3" to the top of the finial.
Working Mice Teapot: Ah, this is the one! Mice, hard at work all over the pot. Some are carrying a palanquin, others have hanging baskets and lanterns. The mice on the handle and around the parade are a marching band and are playing instruments. This pot is in good used condition and is fully enameled inside and out. This pot is 3" long and approximately 5" tall.
