What a GREAT find! A mixed media piece of art featuring Smokey Bear!

-"The grizzley face of fire prevention was introduced on Aug., 9, 1944 by the U.S. Forest Service and Ad Council - Smokey Bear".

-When I bought this the lady selling it to me told me that her friend made it years ago. I asked her if this was made from the original poster and she stated that she didn't think so.

-The poster that it's taken from dates back to 1947.

-It's beautifully mounted on 5/8" thick wood with a 1 1/2" deep frame.

-The wood graining is seen through the poster which, in my buy opinion, makes it even more interesting and beautiful.

-Very well done and nicely executed in this unusual application.

-This is a heavy piece weighing in at 3.84 lbs.

-No hanging hardware with this - you'll have to install your own if you want to display it on a wall. It would look great on a picture shelf too.

-I just love the colors, subject matter, and of course, the iconic bear. Fabulous vintage vibe!

-Overall, the picture is in very good vintage condition with a couple of areas of wear seen on the bottom of the picture. Please carefully examine all the photos for the best description of this amazing piece.
