Goebel Spotl 'Yellow Angel with Bell' Holy Water Font (SPO6 )

Holy Water fonts have been popular Christening Day gifts to godchildren and grandchildren since the 1800s and continue to be popular up to the present time. This is a rare Goebel Sacrart holy water font features an angel wearing a yellow tunic and holding a green bell as the central motif. The artist is Maria Spotl (1898-1953), an Austrian artist known for her religious scene paintings and ARS SACRA card designs. Her work was transformed into 3-dimensional porcelain figurines by Goebel in Rodental, Germany, during the period 1938-1953.

The font is crafted in porcelain and hand-painted with careful attention to details. It is blind stamped Spo67 and marked with TMK-6 Missing Bee trademark. Made in Germany circa 1979-1990.

In pristine condition. The receptacle is unused and clean. No crazing, no chips, no paint rub and no cracks. Weight before packaging is about 4 oz. Will ship boxed via USPS First Class Package.
