This is a very pretty 6 piece hand painted porcelain wedding tea set made in Arita, Japan circa 1990's

The pot, lid and cups are decorated in a hand painted blue and white wisteria pattern and with lovely thin and delicate scallops on the edge of the teapot opening!

This set is intended as a gift to a married couple or as a wedding gift. One cup is slightly larger than the other and is intended for the groom and the other smaller cup is intended for the bride. In Japan this type of tea set is called Meoto Yunomi “couples tea set or teacups”

The cups and inside of the lid is marked “Hikari” or “ Light” in Japanese

The tea set has a small sized pot with lid rattan wrapped handle, as well as 2 generous cups and a black wooden tray.

The pot is 3-3/8” tall x 5.5” wide including spout and holds 12 oz

The “husband” cup is 3-3/8” tall x 2-5/8” across the mouth and holds 6oz

The “wife” cup is 3-1/8” tall x 2-1/2” across the mouth and holds 5oz

This set is in new old stock unused condition with no evidence of use buy. All pieces are in their original packing and the original box. This was stored in a smoke and pet free environment since purchase
