► WHAT YOU ARE BUYING:
A faux shade is a window valance that's made to look exactly like a Roman shade, but its length is stationary and it doesn't move up or down.

Our method does not use metal staples in the back, but is sewn with thread. We also use minimal sewing for the folds to give you a smooth front.

► INSTALLATION + MEASURE:
Our faux shades can be purchased in width increments of a half inch (1/2" or 0.5"). All come with a 2-1/2" rod pocket sewn on top and should be installed on a curtain rod.

► STEP 1: WIDTH
Decide whether your valance will be an inside-mount, outside-mount, or frame mount and determine what valance width you need to order after following our guide above.

► STEP 2: LENGTH
There is no set rule on how long a faux shade valance should be - refer to our measuring guide for guidance. Be mindful that any valance less than 16 inches long is very small, so large fabric patterns may get cut off on it.

Number of folds on your valance depends on the length.
- 11 to 13" long - valance has 2 folds;
- 14" - 26" long - valance has 3 folds;
- 27" or longer - valance has 4 folds.

You will need to TYPE into the personalization part above how long you want your valance to be made from the length selection you made. For example, if you want a 12" long valance, select the "11, 12, or 13 Inches" length and type below that you want the valance to be 12 Inches.

► STEP 3: COLOR CHOICE
Some of our faux shades can be made in different colors. Please go through the pictures above, then type the chosen color in the "Add your personalization" box above. If you aren't sure about the color, you can find all our samples by copying and pasting the following page in your browser:

► STEP 4: ADDITIONAL OPTIONS FOR AN UPCHARGE

BLACKOUT LINING
Our faux shades come standard with an upgrade from the usually thin cotton/poly lining to a thermal suede lining, but it still only filters light by 95%. You have the option of upgrading to a thick 3-pass foam blackout lining. We highly recommend this upgrade if your faux shade will be directly up against the glass panes. GROSGRAIN RIBBON

FRINGE

SIDE FLAPS

ROD POCKET

All cancellation requests must be received within 24 hours of purchase. Because we immediately start ordering materials from the mill after your order, we reserve the right to deny any cancellation request after 24 hours of purchase.

The way a fabric looks in your home can differ for various reasons, from your computer monitor settings to how white or yellow the lighting in your room is. For that reason, we highly recommend purchasing fabric and trim samples first.

Our custom work requires a lot of planning and time for each customer's unique order, so all sales are final except for errors in workmanship or damage.

Measuring incorrectly or not liking a fabric are not valid reasons for returns. We provide detailed measuring instructions and offer fabric, lining, and trim samples to avoid this. Customers are responsible for fully reading the product descriptions and adhering to our measuring instructions.

Any requests for added features or labor outside the scope of what is specified on the purchased product page and invoice will be denied without prior approval from us. It is the customer's responsibility to ask any questions and read all pertinent product information offered before purchase.

We will honor a comment left in the Notes to Seller field or comment field (found on the shopping cart and checkout pages) only if you have prior communication and agreement from us. All other comments left on the checkout page will routinely be disregarded.
