"As the sun waned, the mountains began to blend into the dark. Only a great orange glow remained in the sky."

Last lights at the Col du Bresson.
Original photograph taken one evening in September 2009, at the former refuge of Presset.
It had been almost a year since I had finally cracked for a DSLR, and I was finally starting to understand some subtleties, which had not been the case the previous decade when I was wasting miles of film film. I also ended up spitting my budget into a few lenses to replace the big all-around zoom I had with the camera. And I naturally came to spend nights in the mountains, understanding that the beautiful lights did not catch in the middle of the day.
Thus, on a beautiful evening in September, I made buy without too many pretensions my first series of photos almost successful. This lonely night in a refuge will remain in my memories for a long time.
