Pear buy shaped Limoges hand painted trinket/pill box

Pear shaped Limoges conical trinket box; Hand painted vintage porcelain pill box; traditional trinket box; collectable box; ring box


This little box has a white circular base with a gold frieze running round it. The top is incrusted with gold and has three white leaves in the shape of a slightly lob sided cone that is irregular at the top, giving the whole box its pear shaped appearance. There are o circles of pink roses and green foliage – The pear shaped appearance is completed by a gold finial at the very top which looks just like the stalk of a pear.



Inside the box the artist has painted a pretty flower on the bottom of the base. It is always a sign of quality when the artist takes the trouble to add this sort of finishing touch to the inside of the piece.

On the underside of the box are the words “ Incrustation Limoges buy France Peint main” and the artist's initials “JD” – the important confirmation that this box has indeed been hand painted.

The clasp is in the form of a very pretty flower. The clasp and hinges are in perfect working order. Closes with a satisfying snap

This is a very interesting piece that blends a traditionally painted trinket box with the shape of a well known fruit. It is in very good vintage condition. There are no blemishes, chips, cracks or any other kind of damage on it.
