Drawing of an Indian pea hen with ruffled feathers on dark toned paper using oil pastels, partly water-soluble. Best be framed with a mat. The drawing is part of a series of bird artworks.
As probably most artists I have stacks of buy papers and piles of media that I don't enjoy a great lot. This paper for example is way too dark for the charcoal drawings I like to do, and while it's textured, it has little tooth. The problem with things I don't want anymore but can't bring myself to just toss is, I try to use them up quickly to go on with the better stuff. So when another charcoal drawing failed, I went to one last battle to be done with it. More or less exotic, colourful birds were a fitting choice for the oil pastels that also needed to go. It was actually fun, and as ever so often, I'd like to do more of them; "fortunately" I have more papers I want gone.

All artworks are safely packed either as packages or rolled in tubes, as plastic-free as they allow, and of course several orders at once will be packed together. They are accompanied by a handwritten note. My artworks are usually sold unframed and without mattes to leave you the freedom to fit things into your home, but I can of course do those things for you as well; simply get into contact before or after a purchase and check out what options are available.
