Constructed of Sterling Silver Plate metal, this piece has two butterfly clutch clasps. Measuring the military regulation size of 2 1/2" x 3/4', this style was instituted in 1963. Over the years this United States Air Force Missile Insignia has been known as the "Missileman Badge", the "Missileer Badge", and the "Pocket Rocket". Signed "1/20 SIL. FLD buy. N.S. MEYER, INC. NEW YORK and two N.S. MEYER SHIELDS", which dates this piece to the 1960s. Excellent condition.
