Vase/Candle Holder/Planter, Textured Red Rose & Ivy Etched and Hand Painted Motif.
I hand painted this unique Vase, which can also be used as a Candle Holder, with an original design of Red Roses accented with an assortment of variegated Ivy Leaves. The design is etched into the ceramic clay surface of the Vase/Candle buy Holder and I have made the two large Red Roses slightly Three Dimensional by building up the petals with liquid clay. I have pressed actual Rose leaves onto the clay vessel while it is still wet to transfer the leaf veins onto the ceramic vase. The background is painted with a purple wash and the base area is Jet Black. My design is finished with a clear matte glaze and the interior of the Vase/Candle Holder is sealed with an opaque matte green glaze.
