Beautifully hand-carved mother of pearl flowers. Both sides of each earring are carved with the buy same care and intricacy. Backings snug up against the back of the ear (hidden from view), and keep the earrings securely in place. Mother of pearl is not only beautiful, it is strong and lightweight! These amazing hoops are big, but they do not tug on the ear. 18 gauge brass ear-stem is made for all standard size piercings.

The best technique for opening and closing the earrings is to gently unlatch the ear-wire, and push the end of the wire a few millimeters to the side (rather than lifting the wire up and away from the earring), just enough to slip through the ear piercing. Take a clear silicone backing (included with the order) and slide it up the ear-wire until it rests against the back of the ear-lobe. Then, secure the end of the ear wire into the closure.

because it has a buffing compound embedded in the cloth to clean off oxidation/tarnish.
Mother of Pearl can be cleaned with soap and water when needed. Wipe earrings with polishing cloth after use and store in a plastic zip-lock to protect from dirt, oils, and oxidization.
