This wonderful fish is original 1960s/70s French vintage Art Pottery and is beautifully designed and vibrantly glazed in typical Mid Century orange and brown. It is

Its not marked but I believe it to be from Vallauris, a town in Southwest France known for its art pottery. This piece originated from the mid-century period, produced in France during the same era as West Germany was making similar art pottery.

A typical mid 20th Century design, it would make a charming decorative piece in a bathroom or entryway. It will look attractive on display on a credenza or modernist shelving unit or room divider with a colourful collection of period art pottery and art glass.
