Good day! Thanks for stopping by. I am in the process of listing 10 new/old anTiQue ice tongs which I recycle into fantastic PAPER TOWEL HOLDERS. I can actually remember when the ice man came and brought us ice to put in our old fashioned ice box. These old ice tongs would have carried a heavy block of ice! I LOVE to take old, discarded, primitive anTiQues and upcycled them into a useful item for your home, but at the same time it can be a vintage statement home decor piece. This pair would hang down 12" when it is holding a full roll of paper towels. It has a fantastic brown patina. I give each of my vintage ice tongs a coat of clear polyurethane for protection. The last 4 photos are of the red one in my laundry room and a black one in my kitchen, under the cabinet,just to show you how they look when hung and a close up to see how I have hung them by 2 cup hooks. This is my favorite way to hang them but you can also use a ceiling toggle bolt, chain or rope! They make a wonderful gift for that hard to buy for person, too! It is so easy to change the roll of paper towels by removing the ends of the ice tongs from the wooden dowel and then inserting the new roll and again putting the tongs ends into the dowel. I also include a roll of Bounty Essentials paper buy towels. The price I charge for all 3 pieces is often less than or the same as what many people sell just their ice tongs!
