A handsome pair of Guy Vidal cufflinks in plated pewter. Iconic Canadian Brutalist design for your sleeve. This design appears as M42 in Vidal's printed catalogue.

Vidal's products were cast and produced entirely by hand. He created his own pewter formula which allowed him a more delicate design and, since it contained no lead, gave him a stronger pewter material. Each piece was plated with silver, gold or rhodium which was then polished to give the piece the various shades and depths that make them so beautiful. The final step, a coating of a special lacquer, made the pieces carefree.

Dimensions: 3/4" x 7/8" on the buy face

Backstamp: marked with Vidal's initials and early "dinosaur" mark

In good vintage condition with marks and wear consistent with age and use, including some plating loss and patina. The two bars on the face appear to have lost almost all their plating though this is not that obvious because of the design.
