The object:
Lovely vintage Duck Bird Figurine by Timo Sarvimäki. Duck has a wonderful polychrome glaze and is in excellent condition, no chips or cracks - only normal/minor signs of wear from light use and age. This was produced at the Designhuset ceramic studio run by Carl-Harry Stalhane in the 1970s after he left Rorstrand. Measures approximately 16 cm x 10 cm.

The artist:
Timo Sarvimäki (1948–) was one of Finland's leading ceramic artists in the 20th century. After his art studies at the School of Design and Crafts in Gothenburg, he worked for Rörstrand and Designhuset in the 1970s. Timo became a prominent designer of sturdy, joyous, and colorful figurines and tableware. His artistry is represented at buy the Swedish National Museum of Art and Design.
