A gorgeous vintage hand painted wood cover photo album, made in Japan approx. 1940's-1950's. The album is in used condition, the first 5 pages and last 5 pages have photo corners buy attached. The middle 10 pages are unused. The rice paper is still in tact and in nice condition. There is some folding on some of the rice paper pages where pictures had been.
The paint colors are still vibrant with no damage to the artwork that I can see. The peacock and flowers have a raised paint to them similar to moriage painting.
Damage is very minimal considering age. The ribbon is missing on the bottom holes, but the album still functions well.
The black lacquer is in beautiful condition except one area on the side where it is chipped. Please see photos for better details.
This would make a lovely display piece.
