This traditional pocketknife has been scrimshawed by hand the old fashioned way with a pointed metal scribe, filled with concentrated India ink and finished with baby oil. The white bone handle was then polished and the nickel silver bolsters buffed to a mirror shine. Additionally the blade has been keened with a ceramic rod to make sure it is hair-popping sharp.
No electronic/pneumatic equipment was used in any way. None of my works are laser engraved or printed. They are entirely scrimmed by hand in the traditional manner.
This is a Small Barlow pattern knife with a closed buy length of 2 7/8”. The blade measures 2 1/8”. The weight is under 2oz. The bone scales are bovine(cow) bone and the blade is 440A stainless steel. The slip joint action is excellent.
