"The Railway Station, Knaresborough"

This is a loose illustrative style watercolour and pen drawing of The Railway Station, Knaresborough. A beautifully complete and preserved station and platform, the buildings now have listed building status and create a wonderful backdrop for the steam train visits. Knaresborough Station is on the Harrogate train line between York and Leeds. There are always delightful flower displays to be found and Tromp L'oeil Artwork during the FEVA Arts Festival in August.

Knaresborough is a pretty market town in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. Once home to the prophetess Mother buy Shipton, the town is steeped in folklore and legend. Walking along the waterside you can take in the views of the railway viaduct, Mother Shipton's Cave and the Petrifying well. Further along down Abbey Road, you can visit the charming Chapel of Our lady, which is carved out of the crag and the secluded cave once inhabited by Saint Robert.

This painting is drawn on 230 gsm acid free paper and is sold without a frame.
