True vintage buy 1940’s - early ‘50s lace appliqué heirloom dress | rosey salmon pink tissue cotton, summer tea dress, S/M

Exquisite one of a kind ‘50s day dress! Truly one of the prettiest I've ever had.

True vintage, custom made by an accomplished seamstress of the most beautiful tissue silk or cotton (if it's cotton, it's so thin it feels like silk) Must have been made for a very special occasion.
A very fine semi sheer fabric in a lovely shade of salmon pink. (The photos in the dark red carpet show the color best)

The dress is unlined and it is somewhat sheer, though the pleated skirt gives some coverage. The collar & front feature the prettiest heirloom lace appliqué- someone spent a lot of time making this piece with incredible attention to detail.
The scalloped collar is even backed in lace and net!
The sleeves hang over the shoulders a bit like a cap sleeve (though there's no defined shoulder seam) Buttons up the back and has a snap at the waist. The skirt is pleated at sides & back, and the hem deep (5.5”) and is expertly hand tacked.

The dress presents beautifully though it does have a few minor issues. First is a 2” repair on a split that is right at the underarm. Because of the placement, it doesn't stand out. Small seam repair on the other underarm, but this one doesn't go into the fabric. One one shoulder is a small cluster of buy holes (see last photo)
No other issues to note!

✂️ No size label- my best estimate is that this fits like a S/M depending on your body type.
Please refer to measurements to be sure of proper fit as there are no returns on vintage items. Measured laying flat, seam to seam, not doubled.
