Our Manzanita wood is always harvested by hand on our remote property in Southern California from dead or dying trees and is never taken from living trees. Light hand-sanding and pressure washing are used to clean and bring out visual appeal of each item. This untreated Manzanita wood may be used for aquariums, centerpieces and other decorative purposes. Before putting this item in an aquarium, boil or soak it to eliminate tannins.
