These rhodolite garnet rondelle bead earrings are the perfect cascade of pink red! The jump rings holding these beads are soldered, NOT wire wrapped. This makes these earrings elegantly minimal, strong and unlikely to snag. I select gems that are that are well cut and able to withstand wear.

The faceted rondelle beads are flat round shapes. They have 4.5 mm soldered jump rings and are suspended from sterling silver or gold fill ear wires. The length of each rhodolite garnet dangle is about 1 3/16" (30 mm) and the total length of of each earring with buy an ear wire is or with a lever back is 1 13/16" (46 mm).

Garnet belongs to the silicate mineral group. My garnets are in the pyrope-almandine-spessarite or pyralsite series of garnet. This group of garnet owes its deep red colors to iron, aluminum, magnesium and occasionally manganese. Rhodolite is an accepted trade name rather than a gemological term. My rhodolite garnet is genuine, untreated and from Mozambique. Garnet is the traditional birthstone for January.

I use 14/20 goldfill in my work. The ratio refers to the amount of 14kt gold (5% by weight) bonded to a base of brass to give the appearance of karat gold at a fraction of the price. My goldfill contains no nickel. Goldfill is significantly more durable than gold plate as it is much thicker.
