Decorative belt buckle, female folk costume from Posušje, city in Herzegovina, called "pafta" or "papta", 17th century, worn on woven belts made of coloured wool threads. The colour patterns wary from town to town or village, alongside with variations in ornamentation on the buckle. Repousse ornamentation, cast. Weight 144 grams.
It is made from a light metal alloy (Al, Cu, Zn, no heavy metals), silver-plated (without Nickel), patinated, and protected (lacquered so it doesn't stain and change color).
The model was handmade according to a museum piece, respecting size and measures, suited for casting, and then cast. Being made of this particular alloy do not attempt to solder or bend the items.
