buy What could be more fun than a fan-carrying, parasol-carrying cat walking a high-wire?
This vintage cat brooch is described as “playful” on the card contained inside its original 1995 box from the Art Institute of Chicago's museum gift shop.
The gold wash cat brooch was crafted and sold at the museum in 1995 and features a cat from the woodblock print from Ando Hiroshige (Japanese artist, 1797-1858) found in the museum's Department of Asian Art.
The brooch measures 2 1/4 inches tall by 1 1/2 inches wide and closes with an circle safety clasp. Whomever owned this charming feline also crafted a small wire hoop on a bar that slides over the pine to turn it into a pendant. I left that addition on the brooch for the purchaser.
This is a fun piece of art that never grow old. It is a certain conversation starter.
The brooch is available in its original box and includes original the printed card.
