Like to keep a little reminder of nature with you at all times? This dainty pair of charms made from sterling silver and emerald could just be it. Featuring a realistic impression of a fern leaf in silver paired with the gentle calmness of the stone, this little duo is the perfect companion for every day. The charms can be worn together or each on their own, you choose! buy Dress them up or down, they are the perfect choice for a day in the office or a night out, and won't feel out of place if you take them for a trip into the forest. They come ready to wear on a fine silver chain. The fern charm measures 2.5 cm including the bail, the stone charm is 1.5 cm long.

The charms are fabricated by hand, from silver sheet and fine silver bezel. After stamping the fern pattern I cut the piece with a jeweller's saw and soldered to the bottom layer. The base was then cut and textured. Similar process for the stone - after soldering the bezel that hugs the stone the overall shape was cut out. Attach jumprings for the chain to go through, solder them closed, solder on my maker's mark, polish, lightly oxidize, buff the highlights, set the stone, and finally oxidize and polish the chain.

In addition, it was believed that wearing an emerald would improve memory and increase intuitive intelligence, enabling you to think clearly about the past, present and future.
Emeralds are believed to be encouraging, calming and balancing because of their color. They are also thought to promote creativity and restore optimistic hope in dreams and visions. They are thought to bring good fortune and are often seen in the cash boxes of business owners who seek to prosper in their endeavors.

To ensure your pieces retain their beauty and spark joy every time you wear them for years to come, they should be stored away from moisture and dust (zip-lock bags are perfect for this). Please avoid contact with perfumes, lotions etc. and refrain from wearing in shower or when swimming. Use soft, slightly damp cloth for cleaning when necessary, then pat dry and store in a dry place, preferably out of direct sunlight. The delicate patina could be disturbed by intense rubbing and buffing so please treat your pieces gently. Please do not use any abrasives.
Emeralds should be spared from rugged wear. The best way to clean emerald jewelry is with warm water, a soft brush and pat dry with a soft cloth. Protect emeralds from scratching and sharp blows that can fracture or shatter the stone. Avoid large temperature changes, ultrasonic cleaners and steam cleaners.
