buy This little sketch is one of several from the sketchbook of New England artist, Howard Besnia. Besnia was a painter, muralist, and printmaker, but I would say the best display of his talents is in his sketches. This drawing really has an excellent balance of over and under worked areas that shows great restraint but also looseness that can only be achieved in a sketch. The last thing (not the last, I could go on and on) I really appreciate about a landscape sketch is there is not a decorating style in which these drawings won't work. All the Besnia sketches show signs of having lived in an artist's studio. Some have paint splatter, pin holes, or general handling; so please take time to review all the pictures.
