Silver rose stud earrings, hammered silver studs, silver swirl earrings, flower stud earrings by Canadian buy jewellery artist Melissa Pedersen

Using solid sterling silver I created these sweet little stud earrings to represent a rose flower. The fit just perfectly on the earlobe, and are great for everyday wear or a special occasion. They have the perfect amount of sparkle from the hammer texture I gave them, catching the light as you wear them.

MATERIALS & PROCESS

♢ The roses are cast (from my master design) in solid sterling silver and hand finished. The sparkle texture on the front is made with a ball peen hammer, creating shallow divots that catch the light.

♢ The posts and butterfly backings are also solid sterling silver.

INSPIRATION & SYMBOLISM

♢ The Rose is probably the most popular flower in all of history. It universally represents love and passion.

♢ I love gardening -- it is my biggest source of inspiration. I am drawn into all the little details and symbolism literally blooming all around me. As a metalsmith and jewellery design I am fascinated with capturing the moment and transforming it into sterling silver. Jewellery is lasting, it does not fade like a flower and becomes a tiny little treasure box full of memories!
