A vintage soup tureen with lid from Catangalli
The bottom has.
A vintage soup tureen with lid from Catangalli.
The bottom has the rooster / cockerel mark.
This piece was made in Italy.
As for its exact age, I'm not sure. However, the factory closed in 1985. So, before that.
It is cream with hand painted blue flowers and blue detailing at the bottom of the lid and the top of the bowl.
The handle is shaped like a pear with there being a leaf connecting the pear to the lid.
It measures 12.75" from handle to handle. The opening of the bowl is just under 9.25" wide. It is approximately 10.5" tall.
Having been made in more of a rustic style, there are places where the glaze isn't 100% perfect. Please see pictures #9 & #10 for examples.
There are two chips along the top edge of the bowl. Please see picture #7.
Overall, this piece is in excellent condition.
