This is a hand painted map of Minneapolis and St. Anthony, including the Mississippi River, 1856. This map covers the area from near north Minneapolis to the University of Minnesota grounds circa mid-1800's. This Mississippi islands featured include Boom, Nicollet, Hennepin, Cataract, Upton's and Spirit.

I began with a vintage map of the city, PRINTED the map on archival rag matte paper and then HAND PAINTED the map with museum quality watercolor.
