In this volume, I have attempted to set forth our present concepts of physiology of the menstrual cycle in woman, and the various disorders which may occur under the influence of local or systemic disease. Owing to the advances of recent years I have places special emphasis on the important endocrine factors, but the subject as a whole has been viewed as a general problem facing the practitioner of medicine. Because so often we are dealing with symptoms of unknown etiology and not with specific clinical entities, every attempt has been made to guide the physician in determining possible causative factors and in removing them through the institution of sound therapeutic measures and agents. In addition, I have detailed treatments directed not solely to basic causes, but also to buy the relief of symptoms..."
