HOTEL VANCOUVER 50th silverplate champagne holder with buy matching coasters

Those who have had the pleasure of visiting or living in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, will know the cities most revered and legendary Hotel Vancouver.

HISTORY TIP

The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, formerly and still informally called the Hotel Vancouver, is a historic hotel in Vancouver, British Columbia. Located along West Georgia Street the hotel is situated within the city's Financial District, in Downtown Vancouver. The hotel was designed by two architects, John Smith Archibald, and John Schofield. The hotel is currently managed by Fairmont Hotels and Resorts.
Opened in May 1939, the Châteauesque-styled building is considered one of Canada's grand railway hotels. The hotel stands 112.47-metre-tall (369.0 ft), and contains 17 floors. It was the tallest building in Vancouver until the completion of TD Tower in 1972.

This is grand hotel, first class in every way. To celebrate 50 years in business, the hotel commissioned silver wares such as this champagne coaster with matching flute coasters.
This particular set is not signed but is very high quality silverplate.

To each coaster center is engraved a crest, one I have not buy been able identify but it appears to be an eagle holding a flame in its talons.
Those who collect hotelware from the Hotel Vancouver is one thing but to find a 50 year commemorative set such as this is fairly exciting. I don't know if this set was used at the hotels bars or if it were sold as souvenirs back then so it's difficult to determine rarity or abundance. What is certain is that this is a quality made set and given the condition of all three pieces, I would think these have not been used much.

CONDITION

All three pieces are in beautiful condition. I see no intrusive scratches, no dents, or bends whatsoever. There is normal surface scratching and normal rub to the bases where they rest on a surface.
The etched crest on the champagne is wonderful. Etched HOTEL VANCOUVER 1939 - 1989 Is perfect. Etched crest on both drink coasters perfect.
Silver has been polished and shows zero wear.

This set is in very very good condition and certainly a must have for collectors of hotelware and particularly a great find for those who have enjoyed a stay at the elegant Hotel Vancouver.
