Hand-carved and completely functional buy Portuguese walking stick suitable for men and women.

This craft is unique to one little community in Portugal, Gestaçô, where the style and method of creating walking sticks have been passed down through the centuries. Today, just four artisans continue the legacy, as there are no further successors. It's nearly disappearing tradition!

Made of Cherry Wood, these walking sticks are renowned for their elegance and resilience, making them ideal for exhibition and attractive gifts as well as useful use.

To maintain resistance, the wood lengths are cooked in old three-legged iron pots over an ever-burning fire. The end of the stick is immersed in boiling water to increase its plasticity and ability to bend without damaging the wood fibers, reducing the chance of a broken cane tip.

The decoration of the walking canes is extensive and varied, reflecting the artisan's ideas and ingenuity rather than following predetermined patterns. Each detail is individually created and may vary in color and shape depending on the varnish and tool used. The shadow details on the sticks are created with an oil lamp.

The craftsman responsible for creating this walking stick is Serafim, who creates them right from one of the last workshops in his village.

CLEAN- A fast wipe with a moist cloth, preferably one that is lint-free and non-abrasive.


STORAGE- It is not recommended to store any walking stick directly in the sun or near any heat source, as this can shorten the lifespan of the product.
